Meet the Owner
Joseph Cufaude, founder and lead diesel technician
Joseph Cufaude founded Lowcountry Diagnostics to bring hands-on diesel repair, diagnostics, and fleet maintenance experience directly to trucks, equipment, jobsites, yards, and roadside locations across the Charleston area.
His background comes from 13 years in the diesel trade, working around commercial trucks, fleet maintenance, equipment repair, diagnostics, and shop leadership, where downtime, communication, and doing the job right actually matter.
He started Lowcountry Diagnostics because too many truck owners and fleet managers are left guessing. A warning light comes on, a truck derates, or a unit won’t start, and the answer too often becomes throwing parts at the problem. That is not how we work.
Diagnostics first, parts second
We review the reported issue, verify the failure, test before replacing parts, and explain what we find in clear terms: what happened, what needs to be repaired, and what should be watched or planned before it becomes another breakdown. When a repair can be handled on-site, we handle it. When a job needs shop-level equipment, major teardown, or outside support, we say so clearly instead of wasting your time.
What we do
We serve light-, medium-, and heavy-duty commercial vehicles with mobile diesel diagnostics and repair, fleet repair and preventive maintenance, and DOT annual inspections, plus aftertreatment issues, electrical problems, no-starts, air brake concerns, liftgate hydraulics, HVAC repairs, mobile welding, and practical field repairs.
For fleet customers, maintenance should be more than an oil change. It should reduce repeat failures, document concerns, catch problems early, and keep trucks available for work, whether you run one truck or a small fleet.
